WWW Wednesday #31

Hola amigos! I hope you are having a fantastic week so far! It is time for my weekly reading update, WWW Wednesday. WWW Wednesday is a weekly meme hosted by Sam @ Taking On A World of Words.

The Three W’s are:

  • What are you currently reading?
  • What did you recently finish reading?
  • What do you think you’ll read next?

Let’s get started!

All covers are from Goodreads

What I Just Finished:

This was so much fun!! It was so much like Mulan and I loved it!! I loved the idea, I loved Edan, I loved Maia, and I really really want to know what happens next!! I also still liked Lady Sarnai despite everything. The only thing that confuses me is how Maia’s scissors work. It doesn’t make a lot of sense, but I still loved the book nonetheless.

What I’m Currently Reading:

Things have finally picked up in HPD and I’m so glad. Audrey and Thomas are so real, and I love how they’re going through troubles with their friendship just like normal people. And this mystery is great, though I’m disappointed that I can’t make any sense of it, and I have no idea who it could be.

What I Plan To Read Next:

My library copy has come in, so next up, I’m going to read With the Fire on High!

That’s it for this Wednesday. What are you reading? Did you like the Stalking Jack the Ripper series? Any recommendations for some of your favorite thrillers that you’d like to share? Let’s chat in the comments below! (Be sure to link to your WWW’s so that I can check them out!)

  1. I’m so glad that you liked Spin the Dawn! I really enjoyed it too, even though I wasn’t really a fan of Maia and Edan’s romance haha. And same! Even though we saw so little of Lady Sarnai, I still like her, and if I decide to read the sequel, I’m so excited to learn more about her!

I own a physical copy of With the Fire on High, and it’s so beautiful ahhh! I’m so sure that the inside is gonna match the outside as well, because I’ve heard such amazing things ❤

    1. Thank you! I liked the slow burn at the beginning, but towards the end, I was a bit over the constant never-ending stuff 😂 Yes!! I really want to know more about Lady Sarnai, and why she’s so upset, and just decode her whole character. I hope we both like the sequel!!

Agreed!! It’s so so so pretty, I absolutely love it!!! I really hope it doesn’t disappoint either of us 💚

  2. I really wanna read the Jack the Ripper-series at some point. It sounds so much like a lot of funny banter and cat-and-dog characters. Spin the dawn I have seen before but didn’t really have it on my radar. But “so much like Mulan” sounds great. Still my favourite Disney movie or did you mean like the original legend?

    1. I hope you enjoy it!! It’s so much fun, and Audrey Rose and Thomas’ banter is hilarious!
For me, I think it has aspects from the movie because I don’t really know the original ballad, but I think some people have said it’s more like the ballad than Disney’s version (there’s no Mushu lol). I hope you enjoy it if you read it though!!
