Hey everybody!! Today I’m going to be doing the Sunshine Blogger Award for the 3rd time! Thank you so much to Charlotte @ Bewitching Books, Ravenous Reads for tagging me!!
Charlotte tagged me in December of last year, and it’s April of this year, and I know that I’m a mess, and I’m working on that. Honestly, I kind of miss doing tags, because they are so easy, kind of generic, and they’re fun ways to engage with the blogging community. I don’t know why I stopped them before.
Anyways, this is my third Sunshine Award and I’m really touched that I’ve been tagged for it 3 times! Thank you guys so much!! You can see my previous one’s here and here.
Hey hey hey!!!! Welcome back dear bookworms! Today I’ll be sharing with you my wrap up post for September 2019!! how is it almost the end of 2019 already??? how?? where did the year go?
So September was…I guess, a kind of good month? More meh than good, but still kind of good. I think I’ve gotten used to classes and blogging, and that’s great! But I didn’t write that many reviews, wasn’t that super active in the community, and I only read 6 books. Let’s take a deeper look below!
Books:
Covers are from Goodreads
So I read 6 books, which is better than the 5 books I read in August but not by much. I am now helplessly behind on my GR challenge, and I’m so disappointed. I’m actually contemplating doing my first monthly TBR so that maybe I’d read more if I had a schedule, or an idea of books that I can read. Let me know if you’d like to see that!!
I am also behind on reviews from August, so I’m hoping to catch up on those this month (October)!
Read This Month:
Key: * = Book for review | ^ = Review to come
Curious Minds by Janet Evanovich // Rating: ★★1/2 One sentence summary: An easy and humorous mystery, with okay characters.
*Against Their Will by Carolyn Courtney Lauman // Rating: ★★★★☆ One sentence summary: This was an incredible fast-paced debut, with great characters, and a captivating plot.
^A Man Called Ove by Fredrik Backman // Rating: ★★★★★ One sentence summary: A heartwarming story with beautiful friendships and a sweet grumpy man.
^Spin the Dawn by Elizabeth Lim // Rating: ★★★★☆ One sentence summary: An interesting Mulan-inspired adventure in a world of magic with a determined heroine.
^Hunting Prince Dracula by Kerri Maniscalco // Rating: ★★★1/2 One sentence summary: An okay mystery with a strong and complex heroine and amazing side characters.
^With the Fire on High by Elizabeth Acevedo // Rating: ★★★★★ One sentence summary: A sweet and uplifting story about family, friendship, food, and community.
50 Bookish Questions tag by Meeghan @ Meeghan Reads (Guys. FIFTY questions. Grab a cup and go have a seat, because it was so nice reading all of Meeghan’s answers!)
I changed my blog’s design…again!! I actually had my previous design for almost 6 months which is amazing. I wonder how long this one is going to last, and I really hope I keep it for much longer.
My stats were pretty high in September, and I’m so happy and thankful to all of you who came over and read whatever I had to say!! Also, I’m kind of close to reaching 200 followers, and after being inspired by Caitlin’s post, I’m going to host a Q&A about me/blog when I also hit 200! (It was not intentional lol!! I just felt like my letter that I wrote last time wasn’t much, and I wanted to do something more fun, and I’d seen the idea of a Q&A somewhere else, and then I saw Caitlin’s post that she did earlier this year, and it seemed like a fun way to say thank you, so here we are!)
Thank you to everyone who is following me, and if you’d like, you can fill out the form below to ask me your question, and to give me feedback about my blog!! I would really appreciate it 💚
That’s A Wrap!
That’s it for this month. In total, I read 6 books, did 4 reviews, 2 books tags, and wrote 4 discussion posts (YAY!! Honestly, can you believe that I shied away from writing discussions before??). 2 of the books I read were 4 stars, and another 2 were 5 stars so that is great! However, I am still behind, by 10 books, on my reading challenge.
For October, I hope to read maybe 8 books, catch up on 5 reviews, and try to do maybe 4 or 5 BE Autumn posts. At the very least, I’m going to do 3.
And that’s it for this wrap-up! How was September for you? Did you get as much reading as you wanted done? Are you behind or ahead on your reading goal? Will you be taking part in Bookending Autumn? Should I do a monthly TBR post? Anything you’d like to share? Let’s chat in the comments below!
Hey everyone and welcome to another tag!! Today, I will be doing the Sunshine Blogger Award for the second time, so thank you so much to Kiera @ Kiera’s Bookish Thoughts for nominating me!! The questions are interesting, and I’m super excited to do this!
Let’s get started!!

Answer the 11 questions given to you

What author do you own the most of?
I actually own only one book because I live and breathe library books. A few days ago, however, I saw a book for $1 and got it, so it’s the only one that I own and it is by Chris Ould. The authors that I’ve read the most books from are: Robert Muchamore and Ally Carter. They both tied with 12 books.
Do you have more hardback or paperback books on your shelves?
I read e-books 99% of the time so I have more of that than both hardbacks and paperbacks. I only have one paperback.
If you were on a desert island and you could only bring one thing what things would you bring?
If I could bring only one thing, I’d bring water. No matter how much I love books, I can’t survive without water.
Who is your celebrity idol or crush?
Um, haha, I don’t really have a celebrity idol or crush?? I’m fascinated by any royal family if that counts but they aren’t my idols…or crushes.
What is the coolest thing you’ve ever done?
I’ve ridden a horse!! I absolutely loved it, even though I don’t think the horse really liked me, but it was so much fun! And grooming them is really nice too!! Until they relieve themselves…
What got you into reading?
I think when my 3rd grade teacher recommended that I read, Running Out of Time by Margaret Peterson Haddix, that’s when I felt that spark, and that’s when I started enjoying reading. It was also a way for me to pass the time, since I don’t watch a lot of TV. And then I read Cam Jansen, and I fell in love with mystery, and then I read the American Girl books, and I fell in love with mystery and historical fiction. And I’m so glad that I did.
Why did you decide to start a blog?
It was was actually a spontaneous decision. I was bored, I liked to read, and I’d just discovered book blogs and I was like, hey, why not? And so I started it, but because I was my nervous naive self, I chose to use a pen name, and now I’ve switched to my real nickname, Rukky. But I don’t regret doing it impulsively at all, because it was and still is so much fun and I love talking to other bloggers and readers. I probably would have chickened out if I had put too much thought into it lol
What are your hobbies aside from reading?
Well, blogging, coding, and baking. I love desserts, and I seriously love to bake!! I hate cleaning up afterwards and it’s also not good for my health/weight, but I still love it anyway lol. I also like designing websites with HTML and CSS, but it’s been a while since I’ve done that.
Give a shout out to a blogger you love!
But I love so many bloggers!! I can’t do this…I might just have to write a post shouting out all of you amazing bloggers that I love 💚💚
What was the last book you purchased or borrowed from the library?
I found The Blood Strand by Chris Ould at the Dollar Store for $1 so yay!!
Have you ever participated in a 24 hour readathon?
Nope, I have not. I’m not sure how readathon’s work in general, but I think it’s that you have to read as many books as possible for 24 hours? Is that right? Please let me know in the comments if I’m right or wrong! (I love my sleep, so if it is, I probably never will take part in one lol)
As always, no pressure if you don’t want to do it!
My Questions:
What’s your favorite kind of post to write?
What do you do when you aren’t blogging?
What’s your favorite dessert?
If you could spend a day with one famous person, alive or dead, who would it be?

What’s your favorite animal?
Who are your top three authors?
What’s your biggest pet peeve

I love to cook/bake! Especially bread, pizza, and cake from scratch.
I love to code with HTML and CSS.
I love traveling!
What are you currently reading, and what is your predicted rating for it?
One of Us is Lying by Karen M. McManus. Maybe a four/three and a half star?
What were 3 reads of 2017 that really stuck with you? (Yes, I know this was over a year ago)
Nancy Drew. Nancy Drew. Nancy Drew. That is literally the only thing I read all year, haha.
Who or what is your favorite animal character and what book are they from?
Old Yeller from Old Yeller by Fred Gipson. I am not a cat or dog person, and I’m pretty surprised that I felt so emotionally torn at the end of the book. I think I cried.
What was the last book you read that made you cry?
The Long Game by Jennifer Lynn Barnes. I’m pretty sure a few tears were shed by that heart-shattering ending.
What is your favorite fairy-tale retelling?
I don’t think I’ve read a fairy-tale retelling. I like my fairy-tales just the way they are. (Yeah, right.)
What is your most anticipated read for 2020?
I haven’t been thinking that far into the future yet. But if there is a Debutantes #3 by Jennifer Lynn Barnes, I’d totally read that.
Are you on track for your Goodreads goal, and do you think you will hit it? (If you’re not doing Goodreads, then pick another challenge… or tell me about all of your challenges!)
I’m currently 11 books ahead, so yeah. I’m on track and I’m pretty confident that I’ll hit or pass it.
What is your favorite genre, and list me three books in it you would recommend?
