How Eternity Books Was Created:

Last year December can you believe that it’s been almost a year?!!!, I decided to put my love of books and writing to use and create a blog where I could talk about them to my hearts content. I had just discovered book blogs and GoodReads the month before, and I also wanted to have my own creative space to do whatever I wanted.

To talk books with people who loved books.

To find new books instead of reading the same old Nancy Drew.

To make friends since I didn’t have any IRL.

I was lonely. Bored.

And having a blog seemed like an excellent way to change that. Actually, it was an excellent way to change that. Now, I have a community of readers, blogger and GR friends, a never ending TBR list, and a place that is all mine that makes me feel happy, (sometimes stressed), understood, and also accepted for who I am.

So thank you so much to everybody who has welcomed me into this beautiful community, recommended and talked books as well as discussed topics with me, and also to everyone who has been following this blog. You all made being a blogger such a fun escape, and I am forever grateful to every single one of you 💚

Two Pieces of Advice:

If you’d like to see more than just two pieces of advice, and not just from me but also from other bloggers, check out my LTB post with advice for newbie bloggers!

#1: Blog for the right reasons

More than likely, you started your blog as a way to relax and have fun. So blog to relax and have fun. Don’t make it a chore that becomes super stressful for you, and don’t be too hard on yourself about anything. We’re all human, and trust me, we all understand. Stuff happens, life happens, and at some point, we’ve all probably been in your shoes. So don’t beat yourself up too much, and remember to blog for the right reasons.

#2: Reach out

I promise, we don’t bite. If there is anything you need help with, or a question that you’d like to ask, or maybe you just want to thank someone for something, don’t be afraid to do so. The book blogging community is super welcoming, and we love to chat. As long as you’re nice and polite, you are probably going to get an equally amazing response.

Tagging/Nominating:

Jane @ Blogger Books | Donna’s Reading Chair | Caitlin @ Caitlin Althea | Aimee @ My Addiction to Fiction | Veronika @ Wordy and Whimsical | YOU

As always, no pressure if you don’t want to do the tag, and if you’d like to do the tag and I haven’t tagged you, go right ahead! Be sure to link back here so I can see your post 🙂

2019 Book Blogger Awards Nominations

Today, I’ve decided to take part in the Book Blogger Award by nominating bloggers that I know for some of the categories! I love all the blogs I follow, and at first, I didn’t want to do this because I didn’t want to leave anyone out, but I decided to just go ahead and do it to help some of you win! I LOVE all the blogs I follow and even if I don’t nominate you, know that you are still really awesome 💚💚

This year, the Book Blogger Awards are being hosted by the amazing May @ Forever and Everly. You basically write your own post with your nominations for each of the categories and link back to her so that she can see them. The nomination round ends on Saturday, July 20th which means there are 8 days left so if you’d like to take part, you need to hurry!! To see all the rules and categories, visit her post here!

Without further ado, let’s get started!!!

Best YA Book Blogger

This has to go to Vicky @ Vicky Who Reads. She has such a gorgeous blog and she’s constantly highlighting YA books and doing amazing author interviews/guest posts and giveaways every Wednesday! I also love her design!! It’s really stunning!

Best Mystery / Thriller Blogger

Zoé @ Zooloo’s Book Diary is constantly reading and reviewing Thrillers and Mysteries. She’s usually my go to blog (and GR account lol) when I’m trying to find new thriller books to read! She also just gave her blog a really cute makeover so definitely go check her out!

I’d also like to nominate Jennifer @ Tar Heel Reader because she writes amazing reviews and reads amazing thrillers. I always look out for her review when I’m deciding which books to add to my TBR and love reading her opinion!

Best Book Reviews

Christina @ A Recipe and a Read. I mean, she has recipes for delicious food at the end of many of her reviews which I absolutely love and which also make me hungry. She’s also super kind and amazing and I love her writing style!! We also both love thrillers and mystery so that’s an added bonus. She’s been a bit MIA recently, but her reviews are truly wonderful!

Best Discussion Posts

Xandra @ Starry Sky Books does amazing discussion posts that I love to read! She’s always talking about new and interesting topics and I also really like the starry theme of her blog. Some of my favorite posts are two of her most recent ones: What Makes a Novel “Young Adult & Why Are you Blogging Right Now

Best Blog Aesthetic

This is going to Kat @ Novels and Waffles because her blog is absolutely stunningly gorgeous!! She recently changed her blog’s look and even before she did, it was an amazing and gorgeous place that always made me crave waffles!! And her new mini reviews on sticky notes are just so! adorably!! gorgeous!!! She’s also amazing and really nice and it always makes me smile reading her comments!

Friendliest Member of the Community

Meeghan @ Meeghan Reads has been so supportive and so kind ever since I joined the book blogging community. She also nominated me and I’m so flattered and happy (THANK YOU!!!!). Though we don’t have the same favorite genres, I absolutely love heading over to her blog just to read her posts and drop comments. She also loves to bake (I do too!!!) and I like to read some of her recipes sometimes because she’s a better baker than me lol. She’s just an amazing and super friendly human being!!

Best New Book Blogger (started blog after August 2018)

Can I nominate myself? Lol, just kidding. I’m going to nominate Umairah @ Sereadipity for this one. Umairah started blogging in late December of 2018, and her blog and posts are amazing. I also seriously love the watercolor-ish background and she has also written a few great discussion posts.

There are still so many amazing bloggers out there that I love. I seriously appreciate every single one of you for writing such amazing content and being super welcoming and also really kind people. It’s tough being a book blogger, but because of all of you, I’m reminded of why I love blogging and it makes me want to continue. Good luck to all the nominees this year!!

The Liebster Award #2 – Thank You So Much!!

It’s time for Tag Thursday! Today’s tag (or I guess I should say award) is The Liebster Award! I was tagged by the always and forever amazing Meeghan @ Meeghan Reads. Go check her post and blog out and then come back to finish reading this! I guarantee that you’ll love it!

Thank you so much Meeghan for tagging me!! However, I’m going to be shortening the questions, answers, and nominees to five.

Btw, this is my 100th post!!! YAY me!!!!

Let’s get started!

The Rules:

  1. Acknowledge the blog that gave it to you and display the award
  2. Answer 11 questions that the blogger gives you
  3. Give 11 random facts about yourself
  4. Nominate 11 blogs and notify them of their nomination
  5. Give these blogs 11 questions to answer

Questions:

If you had to describe yourself in three characters, which ones would they be?

Aza Holmes from Turtles All the Way Down by John Green, Josephine March from Little Women by Louisa May Alcott, and I don’t know. A friend of mine says that I am a lot like Inej Ghafa from Six of Crows by Leigh Bardugo so I guess I’m going to go with that.

What movie can you watch over and over without ever getting tired of?

Home Alone!!! The first movie and the second one. I LOVED them both and I can always always always always re-watch them! The other two movies were pretty awful in my opinion

How many books are on your TBR?

243 books. And it’s still increasing!

What inanimate object do you wish you could eliminate from existence?

Slime. It’s disgusting, makes me want to puke, and gets everywhere. And once it sticks in the carpet, it sticks. Yuck.

What was the last book you DNF’ed?

Blanca and Roja by Anna-Marie McLemore. I just wasn’t in the mood for it.

5 Facts About Me (just like Meeghan, I think I’ve said some of these before, but there isn’t much to tell so sorry):

  1. I hate nails on paper, or walls, or chalkboards. It is such an irritating sound and makes me feel super uncomfortable.
  2. I was born with six fingers on each hand. Note the was – I now have only 5.
  3. I’m one of those people whose favorite color changes depending on their mood.
  4. I think I’ve said this before, but I don’t know what else to say. I love cooking and baking!
  5. I love love love love landscapes or still lifes, but I’m a pretty horrible painter.

Tagging/Nominating:

Umairah @ Sereadipity | Kat @ Novels and Waffles | Aoife @ Pretty Purple Polka Dots | Ilsa @ A Whisper of Ink | Jaime @ Books and Waffles | and YOU (if you’d like to do it!)

P.S. No pressure. If you don’t want to do the tag. That’s absolutely fine. If you’ve already done it, please share the link so I can check it out!

2)What are some of your other hobbies besides reading and blogging?

3)What’s your favorite snack or drink?

4)What was your last 5 star book?

Mystery Blogger Award | Thank you!!

Welcome everyone! Today, I’m supposed to do a book tag, however, I was nominated to do the Mystery Blogger Award and I’m so excited!! The Mystery Blogger Award was created by Okoto Enigma. I was nominated by the ever amazing Meeghan @ Meeghan Reads and Bakes. Be sure to check her blog out before you finish this post!

Thank you so much Meeghan!!!

What is the Mystery Blogger Award?

“It’s an award for amazing bloggers with ingenious posts. Their blog not only captivates; it inspires and motivates. They are one of the best out there, and they deserve every recognition they get. This award is also for bloggers who find fun and inspiration in blogging, and they do it with so much love and passion.”

Rules

  • Put the award logo/image on your blog
  • List the rules
  • Thank whoever nominated you and provide a link to their blog
  • Mention the creator of the award and provide a link as well
  • Answer the 5 questions you were asked
  • Tell your readers 3 things about yourself
  • You have to nominate 10 – 20 people
  • Notify your nominees by commenting on their blog
  • Ask your nominees any 5 questions of your choice; with one weird or funny question (specify)

If you had to describe yourself in three characters, which ones would they be?

Interesting. Let’s see, I’d definitely be Stevie from Truly Devious, because I am fascinated with mysteries and murders maybe a little too much for comfort. Second character would be Cassie from The Naturals. She’s kind of shy and quiet and I am too in real life. Third character would be Jo March from Little Women. Jo and I share the same characteristic of getting angry pretty easily. We also both happen to be wannabe authors, though she’s more successful at that than me.

What’s one of your fave songs? (and share the clip if it’s got one!)

Confession time: I don’t really listen to music or songs. So I can’t really say what’s my favorite song.

What’s your go-to book recommendation?

The Fixer by Jennifer Lynn Barnes. I’ve been recommending this every chance I get, and I probably will continue to do so until the day I die. I really loved it.

List three things you are either grateful for, or that you like about yourself.

I’m grateful for my family. They’re so supporting and amazing and I’m glad that I have one. I’m grateful for books, for opening new doors to explore different communities and cultures. I’m also grateful for the bookish community because it’s so open and welcoming! I really love it here. Thank you all very much!

[Bonus/funny question] If you could take any animal and make it the size of another animal, what would you choose, and why?

I’d make a lion the size of a cat. I don’t really like cats, but I’ve loved lions since I was a tiny kid. I even still have a tiny toy lion that I used to play with. I’ve always wanted a lion for a pet.

Three Things About Me:

I used to paint. A few years ago, I was determined to become a painter and bought a lot of paints and canvases. A few successful seascapes, and failed flower paintings later, I gave up. I still like to think that I can paint, but I’m pretty sure I’ve lost my touch.

I love to travel. I love airplanes. I love visiting new countries, seeing amazing landmarks, and just being away from home.

My favorite color (as of the moment) is pale pink. My favorite color in the past has been black, red, green, white, cream, and a lot of other ones. They change with my mood.

  1. If you had to describe yourself in three characters, which ones would they be?
  2. Who’s your go to author and why?
  3. What’s one amazing thing that has happened to you or will happen to you this year?
  4. List 3 tropes that you like in books.
  5. (Weird/Funny question) If animals could talk, which do you think would be the rudest?

My Best Blog Posts:

This is a really hard question. I really don’t know if I have a best blog post, because most of my posts are either reviews, TTT, or WWW posts. However, here are some of my favorite posts that I’ve done.

What are you currently reading, and what is your predicted rating for it?

One of Us is Lying by Karen M. McManus. Maybe a four/three and a half star?

What were 3 reads of 2017 that really stuck with you? (Yes, I know this was over a year ago)

Nancy Drew. Nancy Drew. Nancy Drew. That is literally the only thing I read all year, haha.

Who or what is your favorite animal character and what book are they from?

Old Yeller from Old Yeller by Fred Gipson. I am not a cat or dog person, and I’m pretty surprised that I felt so emotionally torn at the end of the book. I think I cried.

What was the last book you read that made you cry?

The Long Game by Jennifer Lynn Barnes. I’m pretty sure a few tears were shed by that heart-shattering ending.

What is your favorite fairy-tale retelling?

I don’t think I’ve read a fairy-tale retelling. I like my fairy-tales just the way they are. (Yeah, right.)

What is your most anticipated read for 2020?

I haven’t been thinking that far into the future yet. But if there is a Debutantes #3 by Jennifer Lynn Barnes, I’d totally read that.

Are you on track for your Goodreads goal, and do you think you will hit it? (If you’re not doing Goodreads, then pick another challenge… or tell me about all of your challenges!)

I’m currently 11 books ahead, so yeah. I’m on track and I’m pretty confident that I’ll hit or pass it.

What is your favorite genre, and list me three books in it you would recommend?

Thrillers and Espionage.

The Fixer by Jennifer Lynn Barnes

The Vanishing Year by Kate Moretti

The Innocent by David Baldacci

What is a book that has sat unread on your bookshelf the longest?

Modely Spy by Shannon Greenland. I really want to read this, but I haven’t gotten around to doing so.

Kiss, Marry, Kill: Ron Weasley (Harry Potter), Simon Spier (Simon vs the Homo Sapiens Agenda) and Wylan (Six of Crows)

I haven’t read any of these books, so I’m going to substitute some other guys for this prompt.

Kiss: Hale from Heist Society by Ally Carter

Marry: Zach from Don’t Judge a Girl by Her Cover by Ally Carter (I think he shows up in this one, but I’m not sure)

Kill: Stellan from The Conspiracy of Us by Maggie Hall
