What Really Makes a Blog Hiatus – Let’s Talk Bookish

Hello, hello, welcome back to the blog! I hope you’re having a lovely day, and if not, that the day will get better ❤

I am so ready for this break, and can’t wait to just do absolutely nothing. I’m purposefully not making any plans so I don’t put pressure on myself and then be disappointed when I don’t follow through. I’m taking this break as it goes, and we’ll see if anything comes out of it blogging or reading wise.

Despite me not making plans, I still kind of want to do a reading update. I haven’t done one in a while, and I’ve been feeling a little slump-y and need some recommendations, so maybe a post talking about all that will come next week.

Maybe.

I’d appreciate any recommendations you may have now though!

In other news, I’ve updated the Let’s Talk Bookish page to include this month and next month’s topics, so you can head here to check them all out. And well, it is Friday, so we’ve got another topic to discuss today.

Let’s Talk Bookish is a weekly meme hosted by me and Dani @ Literary Lion where we discuss certain topics, share our opinions, and spread the love by visiting each other’s posts. Today’s topic is about blog hiatuses. Join in on this meme by writing your own discussion on the topic, and sharing your link using the inLinkz available here.

Without further ado, let’s get started!

When A Post Flops – Let’s Talk Bookish

Hi friends, welcome back to the blog! It’s been a while. The semester is thankfully halfway over, and the break will soon finally be here. I hope the past month has been kind to you all, and if not, hopefully this month will be much better.

It’s Friday, and I’m back to finally participate in LTB after so long. Quick note: I missed out on posting the topics for December last week, but you can find Dani’s announcement for them here, and I’ll work on adding them to the official Let’s Talk Bookish page hopefully by the end of today.

8000+ Words Ranty Spoilery Review of A Throne For Sisters // why instalove rarely ever works

This has truly been one of the most painful books I’ve read in a while.

It’s actually free for download on Kindle and Google Books, so I picked it up on a recommendation from a friend. My friend thought that the premise of the book was my kind of thing: it’s like historical fantasy, with politics and court drama. What’s not to love?

Everything.

Just everything.

A warning, there will be spoilers for the book. I thought about making this non-spoilery and keeping spoilers in skippable dropdowns because I want everyone to be able to read this (I wrote over 8000 words, okay), but that means pretty much all of the review will end up in spoiler dropdowns.

So I’m sorry. Maybe the synopsis won’t sound like your kind of book so you won’t care and will read the post anyway? And I can honestly give a non-spoilery review of this book in like 4 phrases: insta-love; flat and boring characters; i don’t get this plot or world; at the end, i just wanted to melt into a frustrated mess.

That is a very accurate summation of my entire experience with this book. But what’s the fun in a summary?

Without further ado, let’s get started.
