September 2021 – Let’s Talk Bookish

Hey everyone! I hope you’re all doing well. Today, Dani and I are sharing the LTB topics for September. If you’re new, Let’s Talk Bookish is a weekly meme, hosted by me and Dani @ Literary Lion, where we discuss certain topics, share our opinions, and spread the love by visiting each other’s posts.

Many thanks to Mahita and Jillian for suggesting some of the topics we’re using for September. If you’d like to suggest a topic, you can do using this form which will be embedded down below.

Without further ado, let’s get started!

September 3: Do You Prefer Male or Female Protagonists? (Mahita @ Amateur Teen Writer)

Prompts: When it comes to books, do you prefer male or female protagonists and why? Do you not have a preference? Have you ever not read a book because the protagonist was male/female? Do you think it’s important for children to read protagonists of the opposite gender from them? Do you feel like certain genres have more of a certain gender of protagonist than the other? 

September 10: Pets/Children & Books (Dani)

Prompts: Having physical books can be fantastic, but it can also be scary to have them damaged. If you have pets or children what is your experience with them and your books? Has your child ever torn pages out of a treasured classic? Has your puppy ever chewed on a limited edition? Cat claws in a leather bound? How do you protect books from destruction?

September 17: What Do You Do When a Book Triggers You? (suggested by Jillian @ Jillian the Bookish Butterfly)

Prompts: Everyone has different reactions to triggers; what is yours? Do you have measures in place to help you avoid books that could potentially trigger you? If you get triggered without previously knowing there would be a trigger, do you still care to finish the book? Does it affect your eventual rating/review? Have you ever read a book knowing that something within it would trigger you?

September 24: Choose Your Own Adventure!

Prompts: Feel free to take a look at any old topics you may have missed and do your own take on it. Or you can just take the day off!

Even if you don’t participate by writing LTB discussions, we’d still love to hear any suggestions you might have. We’re always accepting topics, so you can share your ideas using the google form below!

Tomorrow’s topic is What Makes a Book a 5 Star Read? I think I’ve talked about this before but maybe not in a full discussion, so we’ll see, maybe I can convince myself to write it tomorrow.

Because yeah, that’s the point I’ve gotten to. Trying to convince myself to even blog. I’m honestly, truthfully just doing this post because I have to since I am one of the hosts. Even though I’ve been a terrible host lately. Thinking about my blog and writing a post makes me so tired, and I just don’t want to do anything with it right now.

I don’t know, maybe I’ll wake up later and be on fire, ready to conquer the world with this tiny piece of the internet, but right now, I’m just not feeling it. And I’m really sorry that I don’t.

  14. Hi, I’m sorry to hear you’re feeling a bit burnt out on blogging. It sucks to feel distanced from your hobbies! Remember that it’s totally okay to give yourself a break and we all fizzle out on enthusiasm sometimes. For what it’s worth, I think you’ve been a great host! Just putting up the topics and creating a place for everyone’s discussions to gather is a really worthy effort, and it doesn’t necessarily put a damper on it if you don’t do every single topic. Sending good vibes from my neck of the woods 💕
