March 2021 – Let’s Talk Bookish

Good morning! It’s another dreary day here that has me ready to curl back into bed, but alas, school waits for no one. And if I did go back to bed, I’d probably completely forget about writing this post, so it’s a win for everyone but me, I suppose.

That aside, Let’s Talk Bookish is a weekly meme hosted by me and Dani @ Literary Lion, where we discuss certain topics, share our opinions, and spread the love by visiting each other’s posts.

Today, Dani and I are sharing the topics we’ve chosen for March. Many thanks to M.T. Wilson and Nicole for giving us some wonderful topics. If you’d like to suggest a topic, you can do so using the google form which will be linked below.

Without further ado, let’s get started!

March 5th: Predicting Trends (suggested by M.T. Wilson @ The Last Book on the Left)

Prompts: Have you noticed any trends in the genres/categories you read in the last few years? What seems to be trending now? What do you think the next trend will be? What trends would you like to see? Are trends healthy for the book world?

March 12th: Do You Run a Booktube? Why/Why Not? (Dani)

Prompts: I recently started a booktube, as I’ve been longing to for ages and it made me think – if you blog and booktube why do you do both? If you only blog why have you chosen blogging over booktubing? Do you think one format does certain things better than the other? Do you ever want to run a booktube if you don’t already?

March 19th: Diversity in Books (Rukky)

Prompts: What do you think is the meaning of diverse? Who do you think is qualified to write a diverse book? How do you find diverse books to read? What are some diverse topics/POVs that you specifically look for when you’re finding books and why? How do you decide if a diverse topic/POV is done well?

Note: POV stands for Point of View

March 26th: Promoting Diversity in the Book Industry (Nicole @ Thoughts Stained With Ink)

Prompts: How can we, as bloggers, promote diversity of all sorts in the book world? What are some things you think publishers should do to promote diversity? Is there something a publisher or another blogger is doing right now that you think is a step in the right direction? What are some things you do personally?

Have a topic you want to discuss? Maybe a controversy you want to see multiple perspectives on? You can share your topics in the google form below, and we’ll include them as future topics for Let’s Talk Bookish.

I hope y’all are doing well. It’s been such a while since I’ve blogged consistently, and I’m still feeling rather slumpy. I’m trying to do blog hopping though since that requires less brainpower than writing actual posts, but even that I do some days and not on others. It’s a weird process, but I’ll get there hopefully.

I’m pretty excited for these topics, and for tomorrow’s own, Are Big TBRs a Result of Abibliophobia. Hopefully it motivates me to actually write the post on time.

And that’s pretty much all I have to say.

I hope you all have a wonderful day, and I’ll see y’all tomorrow!
