Let’s Talk Bookish – Reading Habits

Hey everyone! Welcome back. I hope you’re all doing well!!

I’ve still been very MIA this week, and I don’t know if I will be here next week. I’m just not feeling like blogging much (it’s a terrible feeling, especially since i kind of want to) so that’s that.

In other more happy news, today’s EID!!! *cue confetti* I’m so excited even tho it’s kind of semi depressing because there will be no parties or anything irl, but that’s why we have the internet right?, and I’m actually not going to be here today, so I do have something important for any LTB participants down below.

First, as always, Let’s Talk Bookish is a weekly meme, that is hosted by me and Dani @ Literary Lion, where we discuss certain topics, share our opinions, and spread the love by visiting each other’s posts.

This week’s topic is: How Have Your Reading Habits Changed Over Time? (suggested by Lydia @ Lydia Schoch)

For any LTB participants today: Please be sure to link to Dani’s post!!! I’m not going to be around today, so I won’t be doing the linkup; Dani will. And well…if she doesn’t know you posted…she can’t add you to the linkup.

You can also leave your link in the comments here, but still, please do link to Dani as well.

And if you’re just interested in reading, of course be sure to check out Dani’s post for all the discussions! Hopefully, maybe I’ll come back and update this to include a direct link to Dani’s post when it publishes.

I just wanted to say a quick thank you for all the lovely comments you all left on my last discussion! I haven’t replied just yet, but I have read them, and you guys made me feel so much better!! Thank you 💕

How has your week been? What are you reading? My reading has been kind of super dry recently, so, what have you been loving? How has your reading changed over time? Chat with me in the comments below!

  1. Eid Mubarak to you too, Rukky! I hope you’re feeling well and will be able to come back to blogging as soon as possible. It really sucks when you don’t feel like doing things you enjoy even if you want to, so I hope you’re able to find your way through it again!

As for your topic of discussion, my relationship with reading has been kinda on-off throughout the years. As a child, I loved reading! I always read everything I could get my hands on in the library and that went on until I was in high school. But now that I looked back to the old days, I’ve realized that my reading habit definitely changed a lot.

I’m more picky now with the books I want to read. I also don’t really enjoy romance that much like I used to. As a subplot it’s fine, but as a genre… I wouldn’t pick them up.

    1. Aww, thank you Aina! I think I might get back into proper blogging this month ❤
I also remember loving reading so much as a kid, and going to the library was such a fun highlight! I mostly read mysteries and historical fiction and yes, over the years, my habits have changed. I consumed so many fantasies and YA books last year and through-out the start of this year and I really want to go back to mysteries and historical fiction like little me loved to do.

Yeah, I don’t enjoy them much anymore, except if it’s a side plot too. Do you have any recommendations for romance-free or less romance books?

      1. That’s good to hear! Just make sure you’re taking care of yourself and avoid from getting burned out, okay? 😊

Ooh that’s interesting because I love reading fantasies back in high school (still reading it too today) but now I’ve been trying to read more historical fictions! As for mysteries, I need to do better 😅

Hmm I still need to read more romance-free or less romance books so it saddens me to say that nothing immediately comes to mind right now. I’m so sorry!!
