21 blogs and why I love them || Introducing The Serotonin Monthly

in spectacular Rukky fashion, this post is three days late. aren’t I amazing? no, i most certainly am not

Well hello there!! Welcome to a wonderfully long post where I hope to spread some happiness and appreciation to all the bloggers out there who spend so much time and effort bringing us all content that we love.

I’ve vaguely had this idea for a while. I knew that I wanted to do something to shout-out and appreciate the bloggers that I loved, however, I’ve been procrastinating for such a long time and haven’t actually done anything with this idea for months.

And then the Book Blogger Awards came around once again and I knew I had to do this now, especially since I couldn’t nominate every blogger that I know for the awards. I had to do another post talking about all the other blogs that I love and support.

Enter The Serotonin Monthly (shout-out to Caitlin and May for introducing me to the word!!) a monthly feature where I will do a post that promotes and supports bloggers. Every month, I will make a post that features some of my favorite posts or bloggers that I’ve discovered in that month. Who knows, maybe I’ll do guest posts or blogger interviews as well!

This has all been really a spur of the moment decision, and I have really not thought this out at all. But hey, I think all my best ideas have been spur of the moment ones so hopefully this will not be a major flop.

And if it is, well, I think it would be a good kind of flop.

So, just to help you understand this post: I am going to be talking and linking to 21 bloggers. This seems like an incredibly long post, but there are also ~21 blog headers in here just to break things up and not make it unending text, so it adds to the length.

I’ve ordered this post based on blog name, and we’ll be going through letters A-N. The second half of this post will be through blog names starting from O-Z.

The format is simple & looks like this:

Rukky @ Eternity Books – Teen blogger. Incredibly annoying. Likes to bake. Prefers mysteries and historical fiction. Writes really long posts (& comments) at times that can honestly be shortened into a reasonable 2 paragraphs.

Favorite posts: Well, they’re all rambly and terrible, but I like my discussion on historical fiction and also my reacting to my old writing series.

I’ll have the blog header on top, then the name of the blogger @ blog name, then about two sentences talking about why I love the blogger & their blog. I’ve limited myself to 2 sentences (or keywords that are about 3-4 lines long as I did with the example) because if I didn’t, we’d probably be here until the end of the month. I’m also going to link to two of that blogger’s recent posts that I liked and hope you will check out.

So, that’s how it’s going to look like, and I don’t want to make this intro too long. I hope you guys use this to find new bloggers to follow, and I can’t wait to hear your feedback in the comments! Let’s do this!!

I’ve been really in and out of blogging this past few months, but please know that I love your posts (especially your weekly discussions!) and your blogging voice, and your blog is one of my favorites hahaha 😄💛. I hope you’ve been well!

  4. This is such a lovely series idea, I think it is great to share new blogs as it can be hard to find new ones at times so this is a great resource. I think when I come back from my hiatus I would like to share some blogs as well. I look forward to seeing more from this series and I love the name 😉

    1. Thank you Krisha!! Yeah, WP has been a little weird lately. I’ve not been getting some notifs of new posts from other bloggers as well so I’m hoping it’s just a glitch or something and that it’ll pass. I hope the follow+unfollow thing worked! I posted something new today so it’ll be a good test lol

  7. Awww, that is super sweet and a great way for me to find new blogs. I don’t think it’s not thought-through at all, it looks very organised and I am gonna go back take another look.

B definitely still needs Sammie @The Bookwyrm’s Den though. She is incredibly funny and kind and writes the most amazing and insightful discussion posts and reviews. ❤

  8. Ahh, Rukky!! thank you so much for the shoutout and all the kind words 😭🥺💗 you’re really doing the most when it comes to blog hopping, haha. I don’t comment on a lot of posts, yet blog hopping already takes up a lot of my time. how do you visit so many blogs and leave wonderful comments on all of them?? Anyways, this is such a great series (I love the name!), and I can’t wait to see more!!

    1. You most defintiely deserve it love 💖 Haha, don’t be fooled! I’m terrible and I still haven’t gone through those tabs (i actually have three browsers filled with tabs now smh) from my goals update that I did 2 weeks ago 😭 And well, sometimes I’ll just have these bursts of energy (usually when I have homework that I don’t want to do lol) where I spend like 2 or 3 hours going through all the posts that I have open. Sometimes, you don’t have to leave a long comment, or you can get away with just liking the post. And sometimes, if I’ve been doing a lot of blog hopping on that blogger’s blog recently…i’ll…just…kind of…”like” the post and move on 🙈 Not because I don’t love the post or I don’t have thoughts on it, (I definitely do!) but because I have more blogs to get to, and time is an issue, and for some of the other blogs, I haven’t blog hopped on their site in…months 😌
But after that burst of energy, I’ll not really blog hop for another month-ish and it’ll pile up again. I highly do NOT recommend my methods 😩
Haha, thank you! I’m super excited to see what I’ll do with it 💕

  10. Thank you so much for mentioning my blog 🥰 I think that this is such a great idea for a series, and I am definitely going to be checking out the blogs that you mentioned here.

I am currently reading a few books, including Becoming by Michelle Obama and The Hidden Oracle by Rick Riordan. I just got a copy of The Poppy War and I really want to read it next. Are you enjoying it? I’ve heard a lot of wonderful things about the book.

I agree that Kay is an amazing blogger, and her post roasting the Percy Jackson movie is so great 😂

Anyway, I loved reading this, and I love the idea for this series that you’re going to do 🙂 Happy reading! 💕

    1. Hope you find some new friends 💕✨

Ooh, I hope you enjoy Becoming and The Hidden Oracle!! Yes, I finished The Poppy War actually, and it was really good! I would say maybe to lower your expectations just a bit, because it didn’t hurt as much as I expected it to? Idk, maybe my expectactions were too high, but it is a really great book and I can’t wait to read the next! It is graphic and very morally grey though 🙂

I know, I loved it so so much!! Thank you!! Happy reading to you too 💖

      1. So far, Becoming is so amazing! I finished rereading The Hidden Oracle and it was just as good as I remembered it to be! Yeah, I really just want to read The Poppy War and find out what it’s about and stuff 🙂
