WWW Wednesday #38

Hey friends! I hope you are having a fantastic day! It is time for my weekly reading update, WWW Wednesday. WWW Wednesday is a weekly meme hosted by Sam @ Taking On A World of Words.

The Three W’s are:

  • What are you currently reading?
  • What did you recently finish reading?
  • What do you think you’ll read next?

Let’s get started!

All covers are from Goodreads

What I Just Finished:

A Darker Shade of Magic was a pleasant surprise. I really liked Kell, would have loved more of Rhy, and Lila was an interesting character. There was a bit of info dumping and it was kind of slow in the beginning, but I liked knowing how everything worked. I’m wondering how it’s a series, when there was no cliffhanger or something at the end, but I wouldn’t mind seeing more of Rhy and Kell.

I just finished my re-read of The Fixer, and it is still just as amazing. I loved the characters, and the plot twists, and I noticed some new things this time around. Asher is the best, Vivvie is the sweetest, and Henry and Tess are fighting for the title of the deadliest. I loved the odd friendship between them all. (BR with Amelia)

What I’m Currently Reading:

I’m going to start The Long Game today!

I’m 67% into Crooked Kingdom and the banter is everything. I missed this team so so much, and I’m loving how this has a lot more heists going on. And I forgot how absolutely ruthless Kaz is. And this scheme that they’re plotting, I really hope it goes right. It has to.

What I Plan To Read Next:

Next up is The Bookish Life of Nina Hill, or Hungry Hearts, or Crown of Midnight.

Chat with me

That’s it for this Wednesday. What are you reading? Have you read any of the books above? What did you think? Am I the only one who’s dying with worry and hoping that Kaz’s latest crazy scheme goes right? Let’s chat in the comments below! (Be sure to link to your WWW’s so that I can check them out!)

  1. Great situation you’re in! I also read A Darker Shade of Magic but stopped because the start was too slow for me.. Is it worth continuing? And ohhhh, what I would give to experience Crooked Kingdom all over again!!!! Oh, the finale is epic!!! And I also really have to read Crown of Midnight, it’s been on my TBR forever now!! Great post!

    1. Yeah, the start is slow, but, I think once things pick up towards the second half-ish (I don’t really remember when it picked up, I think around the 40% mark) it was fun. And Lila and Kell joined up together eventually so…idk lol.
YES, I just finished CK and I already want to read it again!! That ending was so great but also so heartbreaking 😭 I hope you enjoy Crown of Midnight!!
      Happy reading.

      1. ohhh, I really wanted them to finally join up because I really don’t like it when it’s such a rollercoaster until they meet and that the meeting is at the end of the book being the highlight (for example, that’s why I didn’t enjoy the Raven cycle as much as I’d hoped, because Blue and Gansey met at page 250!)
And oh yes – I cried! That was such an emotional blow and one sentence that Nina says to Matthias (May Djel watch over you until I can once more) will forever be my most heartbreaking quote ever!
And thanks so much!!! Happy reading!

        1. *spoilers for Six of Crows!*

Oh no, that doesn’t sound good. No, them meeting wasn’t the end of the book, and there was still a good part of them fighting together. I feel like it was around that 50% mark that they met? And then they fought against the bad guys together after that 🙂
I was so close to crying. When Nina tried to save him, that was so sad. Honestly, I grew to like Matthias so much more in this book and now 😭
          You too 💚
