Hey amigos and amigas! Welcome to another WWW Wednesday post! I hope you’re having a wonderful day. WWW Wednesday is a meme hosted by Sam @ Taking On A World of Words.
The Three W’s are:
- What are you currently reading?
- What did you recently finish reading?
- What do you think you’ll read next?
Let’s get started!
What I Just Finished:
I finished this two days ago and I’m a little unsure about my review (which should be up next week). I expected a lot from Jennifer, and this missed the mark for me.
What I’m Currently Reading:
One of Us is Lying by Karen M. McManus. I’ve been wanting to read this ever since I finished Two Can Keep a Secret, and my library finally got me a copy! I really really hope that this is just as good or better than TCKS.
I started it last night.
The Sacrifice by Indrajit Garai. This is a collection of three short stories about three men sacrificing something that matters to them for the betterment of someone else.
Guys. This! Is! My! Very! First! Book! For! Review! I AM SOOOOOOOO HAPPY AND EXCITED BECAUSE I WAS ASKED TO REVIEW THIS BOOK FOR THE AUTHOR!!!!
*screams for eternity*
Thank you, Estelle (a friend of the author), for giving me this book for review!
What I Want to Read Next:
A new series by David Baldacci? With a female MC? Who also happens to be an FBI Special Agent? With a savage murderer on the loose? Sign me right up, cause I am totally sold.
That’s it for this Wednesday. What are ya’ll reading? Have you read any of the books mentioned? What did you think of them? Let’s chat in the comments! (Be sure to link to your WWW)!
I hope you enjoy all of your books! I am with Cathy in hoping that The Sacrifice speaks to you so the review will be seamless. I don’t do negative reviews on my blog (I don’t even like to mention not liking something on WWW but it occasionally happens) so I don’t take reviews right now either. I have made an exception for NetGalleys but have lucked out liking everything so far. Good luck! https://silverbuttonbooks.com/2019/02/13/www-wednesday-february-13-2019/

I’ll be interested to hear what you make of The Sacrifice because I too was approached by the author to review it a while back and, I’ll be honest, it really wasn’t for me. I hope your experience with it is better. I must admit this was the most difficult part of book blogging for me in the beginning – accepting books for review because you’re keen to support indie authors and then finding you really don’t care for a book and having to find a diplomatic way to let the author know. I’m not accepting new review requests at the moment but, when I was, I learned to be really selective about the books I said yes to.

Sorry it wasn’t for you. I agree about being excited because now that I’m actually thinking about it, I’m terrified that I might end up hating the book, and I really really don’t want to have to give an author a bad rating. But I guess there are pros and cons to book reviewing, amirite??

You’re right! If I really don’t get on with a book – can’t give it at least three stars – then my personal rule is not to review it on my blog. But I know some bloggers like to review everything they read and it’s their blog so their rules 😁

LOL, that’s a good rule. Not sure what I’m going to do but if I passionately hate a book, I probably will review it just to vent, lol.
Thank you so much for the advice Cathy 💖💖

Ooh I have some of Jennifer Lynn Barnes’s books on my wishlist…🙈🙈 Sorry it didn’t meet your expectations, I hate when that happens. I haven’t read one single 5-star book this year so far. 🤷

Jennifer Lynn Barnes’ books are awesome! I’ve read The Naturals Series, The Fixer Series, Little White Lies (and there’s gonna be a sequel AHHH), and I have The Lovely and the Lost on my TBR, lol.
I love all her books, but Nobody wasn’t the same. I guess her writing style evolved because Nobody was published before the other books I just mentioned.
Maybe try The Fixer? It was a five star read for me. And don’t worry, I haven’t read a five star book either 🙂

The Fixer and Little White Lies are the ones I have on my wishlist, but they’re not available here right now. The premises for both sound so intriguing! 😍 Hope I can get and read them soon.🙂
